Have you ever wondered how tankers felt as they rolled into combat? Or how cramped a tank felt with a full crew? Find out by booking a tank ride experience in the Museum’s 1943 Chrysler M4A4 Sherman tank Rosie’s Revenge, sponsored by SWAT Pest.
Evansville’s war effort included refurbishing thousands of Sherman tanks. Rosie’s Revenge is a proud representation of the community’s contribution during war times.
The Sherman Tank is wholly owned by 1943 Chrysler M4A4 Sherman Tank-Cheyenne, Inc.

- Rides are offered on the first and third Saturday of the month from May through October, weather dependent.
- Tickets are $100 per person.
Each 30-minute ride will be broken up into three sections.
- The first section covers safety and the history of the Sherman tank.
- Then it is time to climb aboard and go for a ride!
- Finally, you will disembark and have time for photos and questions for our knowledgeable tank crew.

Important Details
- Each trip can hold four people, 3 in the turret and 1 in the copilot seat.
- You will be provided earplugs for your ride and you must be at least 5 feet tall and sign a “Hold Harmless Agreement.”
- The Tank will only be moving Forward and reverse for 2024 rides, due to the state of the tracks.
- The largest entry into the tank is 26″ in diameter and all passengers need to be able to enter and exit the tank on their own. All passengers must sign a waiver, wear closed toe shoes, and be a minimum of 60″ tall.
- Tank rides are dependent on weather and track conditions. In the case of cancellation, an email will be sent to the address given during registration. Our Facebook page will also be updated with the latest information.
- The Evansville Wartime Museum Tank Crew has final determination of a patron’s ability to ride in the tank. The patron will be refunded if they cannot ride in the tank.

FAQ’s
Is there a minimum or maximum size requirement?
The minimum size requirement is any individual must be over 60″ or 5′ tall. There is no maximum size, however, the largest hatch to enter the tank has a diameter of 26″. All guests must be able to enter and exit the tank on their own.
Is there a waiver?
Yes, due to the nature of this event, there is a waiver to ride on the tank.
Can I move around to the different positions (ie. co-driver, gunner, loader, and commander)?
The driver will stop the tank and allow riders in the turret to change seats during the ride. Riders should make this request to the crew before loading. The person in the bow gunner seat cannot move to another position during the ride.
Can I bring a cell phone or camera on the tank ride?
Cell phones or cameras must be attached to a lanyard worn around the rider’s neck. Otherwise, they will not be allowed while riding.
Does my ticket to ride the tank include admission to the museum?
Yes, admission for the rider is included in the price of the ticket. Other guests will have to pay for admission to the museum.
What shoes should I wear?
Closed-toe shoes are required to climb into and ride on the tank.
